DP World - Saigon Premier Container Terminal Sets New Productivity Record Delivering 108 Berth Moves Per Hour
DP World’s Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) in Vietnam achieved a new productivity benchmark recently when its Panamax cranes hit a record 108 berth moves per hour while servicing the MSC Alice.

A concerted team effort and the port’s signature operational efficiencies ensured that 3,740 TEUs were handled in 21 working hours, beating previous productivity benchmarks

The new record – set during the 242m MSC Alice’s maiden call – reaffirms SPCT’s leading position as the region’s most efficient marine terminal operator, with a focus on constantly improving quay crane rates which deliver direct benefits to customers in terms of time and cost saved.

Henry Yu, Chief Executive Officer and Director General, DP World, Saigon Premier Container Terminal, said: “Operational efficiency is a watchword at DP World, Asia Pacific Region, and in particularly Vietnam. We have set out to demonstrate to our customers and the industry that we can consistently provide a high quality of service. The quay crane record set at our terminal in Saigon Premier Container Terminal is a result of all-round team work and we are delighted that our efforts are paying off by directly benefitting our customers. We congratulate the operations and planning team.”

Nawaf Nassir Abdulla, Chief Operating Officer, DP World, Saigon Premier Container Terminal, said: “Container handling at our terminals is a carefully choreographed operation that integrates our highly skilled manpower while focusing on efficiency, planning, and executions. The new productivity benchmark set by our team while servicing MSC Alice is a result of the fundamental business process changes we have been introducing in recent months. We congratulate everyone who has made this possible.”
